One day

“Maybe one day we’ll meet each other again and explain what really happened.”

In another life we’ll sit across the way,

And as we talk, we’ll come to say,

We couldn’t change what came to pass,

But we both grew, and that will last.

No judgement, no expectations here,

Two souls laid bare, who hold so dear,

The chance to talk and reconnect,

To share the stories we both respect.

We’ll tell our tales of joy and cheer,

And some of sorrow, pain, and fear.

With open hearts, we’ll listen well,

Not to judge, but to dwell.

On how we’ve grown and come so far,

To look back at moments that made us who we are.

And maybe, just maybe, our souls will find,

A way back, with something greater in mind.

Until that day, I’ll hold on tight,

To hope our paths will reunite.

And when they do, we’ll share once more,

Our stories, like we did before.
